History
The practice formed in 2001 by merging the practices of Woolley McOwan & Webb Optometrists and Ian Lucas (Optometrist).
Woolley McOwan & Webb have had a practice in Stafford since 1947 offering a wide range of ophthalmic services to the local community. Philip Webb joined the practice in 1974 and has worked there since. His work includes all types of contact lens fitting, provision and advice on low vision aids and children’s eyecare. He is the attending optometrist at the local hospital, attending twice weekly an has previously served on the Local Optometric Committee.
Ian Lucas qualified as an Optometrist in 1978. Since then he has worked in a variety of different locations but has been working in Stafford, in his own practice, since 1995. He has been a member of the Local Optometric Committee and also a councillor of the Association of Optometrists, a national organisation.
Shelley Stubbs was educated at Stafford Grammar School. After her university training she worked initially as an optometrist in Penkridge. She became a director of Webb & Lucas in 2007
The Team
Philip Webb, Ian Lucas and Shelley Stubbs are the Optometrists who provide Eye Examinations and Contact Lens fitting at the practice. Philip also provides advice and assessment for Low Vision Aids.
Sarah Thomas is the Dispensing Optician who gives advice on frame selection and lens types. She re-joined the practice in 2005 having worked for Woolley, McOwan and Webb in the past.
Heather Lunn is now also a fully qualified Dispensing Optician and thus she too is available to advise on the choice of frames and lenses. She also runs the in-store lab where she manufactures completed spectacles.
Our friendly team of Optical Assistants are Kate, Jane, Sarah, Lesley, Bridget and Aaron. They will always be happy to meet and advise you.
